Rich in resources. Short on opportunity.
We know you are a proud and patriotic Nzema citizen of Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. But did you know that the Nzema area is among the richest in Ghana in economic potential and mineral resources, including oil, natural gas, gold and more, and yet it remains one of the least endowed in skilled manpower?
A visit to the oil and natural gas industry in the Atuabo area shows that only a few Nzema citizens hold senior positions there, and only a few Nzema engineers and certified technicians can be found in this vital sector. We need to rectify this, and fast.
Our call to every Nzema
That is why the Nzema Association of Atlanta is calling on all Nzemas and Nzema-loving people in the United States and the diaspora to contribute to our Scholarship Fund, which benefits all 8 Senior High Schools in the three districts of Jomoro, Ellembele and Nzema East.
How the Fund works
- Each year the Fund selects the best three students from Nzema senior high schools who are admitted to any university in Ghana.
- Students are selected based on their West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results.
- Each scholar is supported for the full four years of university.
- With three new scholars every year, the Fund supports 12 university students at a time once fully running.
Our goal
As the industries of Nzemaland grow, we want enough Nzema engineers, technicians and specialists ready to take responsible positions in these vital economic sectors, and to make the voice of our communities heard.
Be part of this game-changing program. Put your name on this history-writing list of sponsors and help change the face of the Nzema education landscape with an annual tax-deductible donation of $60 or more.
